Bless All Who Serve

While Unitarian Universalists and UU ministry have long been part of the military, UU communities have often struggled with the topics of war, peace, the military, those who serve, and their relationships to each other. What place have Unitarian Universalists historically had in the military, and where are we now?

Rev. Jules Taylor is Senior Director of Contextual Ministry and an affiliate professor at Meadville Lombard; a chaplain (Major) with the New York Air National Guard and a responder with the UU Trauma Response Ministry; and a Unitarian Universalist community minister specializing in pastoral & spiritual care, critical incident response, and community ministry. An ordained minister since 2001, Rev. Taylor has served UU congregations in New York City and St. Louis and volunteered with multiple crisis and disaster response organizations. A sought-after speaker and teacher, Julie has contributed chapters to several books on the subject of spiritual care and crisis and is on the national faculty of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. Agitating, preaching, and working towards dismantling systems of White supremacy are key in Rev. Julie’s theology and work.
