Honest, accurate information about sexuality changes lives. It dismantles stereotypes and assumptions, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem, fosters healthy relationships, improves decision making, and has the potential to save lives. For these reasons and more, we are proud to offer Our Whole Lives (OWL), a comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education curricula developed by the UUA.

Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. With a holistic approach, Our Whole Lives provides accurate, developmentally appropriate information about a range of topics, including relationships, gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual health, and cultural influences on sexuality.

In our congregation, OWL classes are led by staff and members of the congregation who have completed training and certification through official Our Whole Lives facilitator training programs. Our typical offerings include:

  • Kindergarten & 1st Grade curriculum, once every 2 years
  • 4th through 6th Grade curriculum, once every 3 years
  • 7th through 9th Grade curriculum, once every 3 years
  • 10th through 12th Grade curriculum is not currently offered on a regular basis due to low numbers of students in these grades. Trained facilitators are available to begin offering this program again when a robust student group develops.
