Friday Update

Yin and Yang
March 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Online and in-person
Rev. Dr. Matthew Johnson
Our final service on Taoism.  Yin and Yang are about balance, and about how we need both sides of a thing to have fullness.  How do we live with balance? What happens when we get unbalanced and how do we get back?  Also, thoughts about the relationship between Taoism and “The Force”, and some reflections on good and evil.
Order of Service

Come Join Us!
This Sunday, the Naib’s, the Afghan refugee family being sponsored by church members from Ogle County, will be joining us for the worship service and for a Meet & Greet in Deale Hall during coffee hour.

Please come to welcome the Naib family and learn about their hopes for their new life. They will share their story of fleeing Afghanistan to protect their lives because of the work they did for a US funded NGO promoting democracy and women’s rights.  And, they will explain their ongoing concerns about their many coworkers and family members still in danger and hiding in Afghanistan.  Finally, we hope you will ask and we will answer how you can help the family settle in and support the endangered people still left behind in Afghanistan.

Next week is spring break! Most of our staff have children on break and may be working from home. Please call ahead of time to see if someone is at the building or email the person you are trying to reach.
Thank you!
Sermon Discussion
The Justice For All Team is reinstating the Sermon Discussion every third Sunday in the Library.  So, after the service, grab your coffee and join us to share your thoughts.  (Wearing your name tag is always helpful.)
