A New Era of Action in Illinois
April 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Online and in-person
Natasha Walker
What happens when 30+ congregations speak with one moral voice? We are delighted to welcome Natasha Walker, our new leader at the UU Advocacy Network of Illinois (UUANI), to the pulpit. Natasha brings a unique perspective to our movement, combining two decades of strategic work in Corporate America with a deep commitment to the interconnected web of life. This morning, she shares her vision for UUANI’s three-pronged strategy of advocacy, activism, and resistance. Come hear why our daily actions are “inextricably braided into everything else” and how your engagement can help shape the future of our state.
Natasha Walker is the new Executive Director of the UU Advocacy Network of Illinois (UUANI). Her background in HR and global operations at Google and Disney, her experience at Black Lives of UU (BLUU) intersectional combined with her identity as a Black, single mother with neurodiverse children, gives her a unique perspective on UU social justice efforts.
We will share the plate with African American Resource Center at Booker

Halfway there
If you have already submitted the form—either online or in paper format—please disregard this message. Thank you for your continued commitment to the church.
The Stewardship Drive is halfway to our May 1st conclusion.
Here is the good news. Stewardship Drive status.
(66) members have turned in a pledge so far. We expect (190) will eventually make a pledge
You have made pledges totaling $190,350.28.
At least half of those who pledged increased their pledge. They recognized the place of this church in their own world.
I wanted to send a gentle reminder about submitting your pledge for the upcoming church year. You’re not alone—there are 133 fellow members who, like you, have faithfully pledged in past years and have not yet turned in their commitment for this year. We truly value the consistency and generosity that you and others bring to our church community.
To be honest, writing this email even prompted me to reflect and make sure I submitted my own pledge—it’s something we’re all in together.
Go to the UU Rockford website. At the top is a yellow bar that says “Fill out your 2026-27 Stewardship Form Here”. Click on that line.
There are paper forms at the church office.
The theme of this year’s Stewardship Drive is IMAGINE. Many of us have been part of this church community for years, and together we help sustain and grow it.
Let’s IMAGINE what we can do when we all share our plans by May 1st:
IMAGINE a Finance committee that can plan thoughtfully and confidently for the year ahead.
IMAGINE a Stewardship team that can focus on supporting our shared mission, rather than tracking down information.
IMAGINE an annual meeting in June where we can speak with clarity and excitement about what lies ahead for our community.
Your timely response truly helps all of us move forward together.
Thank you for being part of this community and for everything you do.
