Trust Your Voice
March 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Online and in-person
Rev. Bowie Kling-Garcia
The world around us is one full of noise – and in these unprecedented times, we hear the near-constant stream of those in power telling us what we should value. As a faith, we are clear in what we believe – but can we trust ourselves to know the difference amidst all of the pressure? Will we be able to stand for what is right when the time comes? This Sunday we will be reflecting together on when to trust our inner voice, when to question it, and how to use our voice when the world needs it most.
We will share the plate with Farmers Rising At Farmers Rising, we lift up the people doing local and regenerative farming. We create space for you to learn alongside other growers and farmers, improve your business and production skills, and connect with eaters, partners and local food advocates of all ages and walks of life.
Our work to build sustainable local food and farm systems honors the people working the land, recognizes healthy food as a human right, and dismantles extractive food systems…putting us at the forefront of farmer training.
Volunteers for Sunday, March 23 Thank you to the Soul Matters Groups for volunteering for hospitality this Sunday!

Notice of Special Meeting of the Society March 23, 2025
It’s time to care for the building we love so much!
Please plan to attend a special congregational meeting immediately following our worship service on March 23, 2025. The last two editions of Kairos have included articles about the deteriorating siding on our church building and what will be involved and the cost of replacing it. Before the Board can authorize such an expense, it must be approved by a vote of the Society.
Please review the Summary by clicking the button below. We also have printed copies of Part 2 of the project summary available at church.
Remote proxy votes accepted. Email Autumn at office@uurockford.org by Friday, March 21
Questions? See Dave Schubert, Clark Logemann, Steve Lewis, Bob Spelman or Matt Menze.
The Sex & Gender Justice team will meet Sunday, March 30, instead of March 23, due to the Special Meeting of the Society.
